Curriculum Guide

This site represents a teacher resource developed for the content in the original PhysicsLAB which existed from 1997 to 2003. All of its entries now link to updated pages in the current, redesigned PhysicsLAB. Browse 21 units of instruction and 10 content areas — designed to help students build progressively on prior physics knowledge.

Starting in 2004, all newly developed curricular materials can be accessed through PhysicsLAB's Table of Contents, also arranged by units. All content can be searched.

PhysicsLAB logo

This logo was designed by Paolo Rivera, Mainland's 1999 valedictorian, as a graduation present to Mrs. Colwell. While at Mainland, Paolo took three physics courses: Physics | Honors, AP Physics B, and AP Physics C-Mechanics. His design incorporates information from such topics as the reflection and diffraction of waves, resonance patterns of strings, capacitors, forces, vectors, resistors, torque, and the xy-coordinate plane.

Paolo studied art at the Rhode Island School of Design and has a professional career as a comic book artist. This logo is used with his permissions.
